Top 5 Debt Free Community Blogs, Websites + Channels (VOL 1)

I’m so excited to be publishing my very first “Top 5 Category” post!

Today, I’m going to be featuring links to (and stories about) some of my favorite Debt Free Community (DFC) members. The links to their pages and/or channels are located in each heading, under each DFC member’s name.

These five, specifically, were the women and men who inspired me to start my own blog and dip my toe into sharing our lifestyle with a broader audience.

So, without further ado… here are my Top 5 Debt Free Community Blogs, Websites and Channels (in no particular order):

ONE | ELLIE MONDELLI
Website + Instagram

Real Talk: I am a HUGE Ellie Mondelli fan. Mrs. Mondelli was the reason I decided to create an Instagram account specifically for debt free living. I followed her from my personal account and watched as she PAID OFF HER HOUSE(!) like a flippin’ boss. Her life parallels mine quite a bit which, to me personally, made her journey all the more compelling. Ellie tells a fascinating story of snowballing all the way up to Baby Step 7, while unveiling personal details about her challenges, both past and present. Although she blogs under a pseudonym as I do, everything she writes is straight from real life experience and straight from the heart.

TWO | DEBT FREE IN SUNNY CA
Website + Instagram + YouTube

Amanda at Debt Free in Sunny CA is nothing short of crushing the debt free lifestyle alongside husband, Josh. (Fun Fact: Amanda was the person in charge of spearheading the #debtfreecommunity hashtag in December of 2016!) Amanda and Josh have been paying down $133,763 worth of debt over the last 3 years. At the time of this writing, they have about 17% left to go before they are 100% debt free! The Debt Free in SunnyCA YouTube channel features a (sail)boatload of great content, including helpful tutorials for debt free community members, advice on saving money, and updates from Amanda’s own personal, debt free journey.

THREE | INSPIRED BUDGET
Website + Instagram

Allison and her family at Inspired Budget truly define debt free success. Newly married and pregnant with their first child in 2011, Allison and her husband quickly got to work paying off $111,000 in debt to prepare for their growing family. It took them four and a half years, but they did it! Allison has a wealth of knowledge that she consistently shares about living a debt free lifestyle including how-to guides, tips and tricks for living life on a budget, along with a huge library of affordable printables on her Etsy page that are sure to come in handy for any newbie to the DFC.

FOUR | PENNIES TO WEALTH
Website + Instagram

If you’re interested in reading about a real debt free power couple, look no further than DJ and Dannie at Pennies to Wealth. These college grads and military family of two offer life-changing solutions for debt management and payoff, backed by real life experience – from downloadable tools to money tips everyone can use. To date, DJ and Dannie have paid off a whopping $116,996 in two years! With a crisp design and easy navigation, their website is easily one of my favorites for debt free motivation and information.

FIVE | FRUGOAL with Ang
Website + Instagram + YouTube

If you want to learn how to get more out of life by spending less, check out Frugoal with Ang. Ang is a wife, a mom, a wise budgeting sage – and (the best part) – the girl knows how to kick back and enjoy a good glass of vino! Ang offers the perfect mix of articulate, practical wisdom paired with hilarious anecdotes about her debt payoff process to help get you rolling on your own debt free journey. If you’re new to the debt payoff game, check out “3 Steps You Must Tackle Before Getting Out of Debt” on Frugoal’s YouTube channel. Trust me – it’s worth the watch!

More to Come

Just to be clear – there are many other wonderful blogs, sites and channels in the debt free community to peruse and learn from; these are just a handful that I picked for this post. If you are a member of the DFC and don’t see your blog or social accounts here; no worries – I will be featuring more in the months to come, so check back soon for Top 5 Debt Free Community Blogs, Websites and Channels: Volume 2!
