Hello and welcome to Pinchin’ Lincolns!
So, what’s this blog about, anyway?
Pinchin’ Lincolns is our very own made-up slang for “pinching pennies” which is exactly what we’ve been doing for quite some time. Since August of 2016, we’ve been (loosely) following Dave Ramsey’s advice and principals to better control our finances. If you’ve never heard of Dave Ramsey, I highly recommend picking up a copy of his book, The Total Money Makeover: Classic Edition: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness. This will explain many of the terms you will read in this blog, such as “baby steps” and “debt snowball.”
When you say “we”, to whom are you referring?
The pronoun “we” includes Mrs. Lincoln (me) and my husband, Mr. Lincoln. We also have two wonderful children in our lives, Abbie (b.2001) and Gabbie (b.2003). Abbie and Gabbie are my husband’s kids, but he shares them with me.
Are those your real names?
No, sorry. Lincoln is not our last name and Abbie and Gabbie are not our kids’ names. We’ve chosen to blog under pseudonyms in order to be a little more transparent about our financial situation, while still keeping an element of anonymity and privacy. Thank you for understanding!
What can I expect from your blog?
Pinchin’ Lincolns, at its core, is an overview of our journey to becoming debt free along with the methods we’ve used – and are currently using – to accomplish our goal. But you can also expect to find some humor and insights into our daily lives, too. This lifestyle can be very difficult, and sometimes, you just need a little levity!
